When you are in Japan, you will encounter some food that might be not familiar to you because that food is not popular to be eaten in your country.


For example,

Natto (fermented soya beans),
Surume (dried squids),
Tukemono (pickles)..and so on



If you live in a share house like Wagaya, it would bring you some opportunity to experience rich diversity of international cuisine. (For instance, me tasting French crepes. (there were very good))


Especially, of course, you can taste various Japanese (Asian home cooking!)



The other night, we decided to have fresh spring rolls for supper.


“I have never had fresh spring rolls before in my life”, said one resident from Saudi Arabia

For those of you who don't know what row spring rolls are it is a vietnamese food eaten also in Japan.

It is like this.

They are a lot of veggies inside, and you can also put some salmons and cream cheese.

It tastes very good with sweet chili sauce.


It is fun to get to know other counties’ food cultures^^

先日はみんなで生春巻きを食べましたが、サウジアラビアから来た住人は食べたことがなかったようで興味津々でした。


「どうやって食べるの？」

「まずはこうやってね…」



なんて、異文化交流出来ちゃうのがWAGAYA。
